More on the Design Process

Initial Discussion

A visit to your home to discuss the project you have in mind. This is free of charge to within a 30 mile radius of the office. After this first meeting I will write detailing fees and terms of business.

Consultancy Service

Sometimes a consultancy may be more suitable as a starting point. This is usually a half day visit for which an agreed fee is payable and may be useful where a design is not necessarily needed.

Survey and Sketch Designs

Once I have been asked to proceed I will carry out a survey and draw up sketch design options for your consideration.

Final Plan

When the design is chosen I will draw up the final plan and contact landscape contractors to provide estimates as required.

Working Drawings

If working drawings are necessary for the construction stage these can be provided.

Planting Plans

These show the position and number of every plant in the garden and come with plant specification details. Planting plans are often provided as part of the full design service but can be provided as an individual item if required.

Plant Sourcing

Supplying and supervising the delivery of plants from reputable nurseries. A planting out service can be arranged.

Project Management

Regular visits to site during construction to oversee and advise the contractors – usually charged on a half day fee basis.

After care

I am always available to advise and answer queries after the project has been completed and will usually make one free site visit after completion to ensure everything is to your satisfaction.
